036e Fried Vegetables Cakes (Ote Ote Sayuran)



200 grams Carrot cut 0,5 X 0,5 cm cubes

100 grams Bean sprouts

200 grams Flour

5 pcs Spring Onion sliced finely

200 grams Shrimp Peel and cut the back part lengthwise and left the tail.

4 cloves Garlic pounded

1/2 tsp. Pepper

2 pcs Egg

250 ml Vegetable oil for deep frying

1/2 tsp. Salt to taste

25 ml Water if needed


Pound garlic, pepper and salt together in a motar and pestle. Put aside.

Place flour in a deep mixing bowl. Make a well in the middle of the flour, add egg, garlic mixture. Pour water little by little if needed. Whisk vigorously until batter is evenly smooth and not too thin. If it is too thin, add more flour. Add carrots, bean sprouts, spring onion and stir well.

Heat oil in a wok or deep fryer until moderately hot. , put a ladle in the hot oil, lift the ladle out and pour the batter, add one shrimp in the center, put ladle into the hot oil, cooking until vegetable mixture (IOte Ote) flake off from the ladle, continue to fry slowly until golden brown and crispy. Remove Ote Ote from oil, drain on paper napkins and dry well.
