004e Chicken Cashew Nut (Ayam Mente)



200 Gram Chicken thinly sliced into strips

0,5 tsp. Maizena powder deluted with 50 cc water

3 tbs. Sweet soy sauce

4 tbs. Vegetable oil

2,5 cm Ginger peeled, sliced

4 cloves Garlic finely slice

1 pcs Onion cut in to half, sliced in 1 cm wide.

1 tbs. Honey

1/4 tsp. Salt to taste

1/2 tsp. Pepper to taste

1/2 pcs Red bell pepper cut in 2 x 2 cm wide

1/2 pcs Green bell pepper cut in 2 x 2 cm wide


In a frying pan place four tablespoons of vegetable oil and garlic. StirĀ over a low heat until the color turns golden. Add onion, chicken, ginger, honey, and pepper and stir for several minutes.

Reduce heat and add sweet soy sauce, salt and cover for several minutes until cooked. If necessary, add a little water orĀ stock to help steam.

Add mix of water & maizena powder. Turn down the heat and simmer to reduce the sauce until it becomes thick. Add red & green bell pepper.

Mix the chicken with fried cashew nut. Serve immediately while the cashew nut is still crisp.
